My mind started wandering to what character I could talk Ashlyn into and Mark could be the Tin Man and I could...
and then I came back to reality, bought the costumes, ordered a Dorothy dress and sparkly red shoes and was completely satisfied with my Halloween plan.
I also had dreams of turning our choo-choo wagon into the yellow brick road but reality hit yet again that I am lucky to get dressed each day so I decided I would just be happy with costumes and move on.
The only glitch in my plan was a last minute missing red bow and a scarecrow who could barely stand (or raise his arms) because he was so tightly packed with winter gear.
The finished product... (these pictures are not the best, no one was interested in standing still)
The Lion
the Scarecrow
and Dorothy
Oh and here are a few Scarecrow mishaps...
can you find him??
It takes dedication to stick to Mommy's theme ;)
We are part of the Halloween costume parade over at SITS, head over for many many more costumes!

They look so cute and precious. I like the idea of a theme.
Love the theme! We went to a Wizard of Oz themed party last year for Halloween :) I was the wicked witch of the East. Coming to you from SITS Halloween Linky Parade!
okay the little scarecrow and you just laughing at the camera while you scoop him up???!!!! priceless. just priceless. :)
Adorable!! It's usually too HOT here on Halloween. Poor kids are always sweating to death in their costumes!
Great costumes. I love the scarecrow. Too cute!! We did a theme too. Shrek movies. lol!
What a great theme idea....and how ADORABLE! :) It looks like you all had a fantastic time!
So adorable! My favorite costume from childhood was getting to go as Dorothy with my siblings and cousins rounding out the cast of characters. Yay for red jelly shoes. =)
What adorable kids you have! LOVE the costumes! I give you credit for organizing the "theme". Not easy with a big family!
Adorable! I had to laugh at your little scarecrow. So cute!
I'm in awe of your fabulous costumes and beautiful children. well done to all of you, hope you all had fun.
Precious! Audrey wore the same red glitter shoes from Target with her Minnie Mouse costume and my husband said they looked like they were more for a Dorothy costume...he was right!
